Every now and then I like to step back and look at what is actually happening behind the scenes in my business. Numbers tell the truth, and this past week had a lot to say.
Over the last 7 days my website brought in 250 visitors, which is a 125% increase from the previous period.
Growth like that usually is not one big event. It comes from being consistent, putting your name in front of people, and giving them a place to go when they want to check you out.
And that place matters more than most business owners realize, especially in the home service world.
Social Media Might Introduce You. Your Website Establishes You.
One thing that stood out right away was where visitors came from. Instagram alone drove over 100 people to the site, while Facebook slowed down a bit. Really lets me know I need to work on posting on Instagram more often lol.
That is a good reminder that social platforms will always shift. What works today might cool off tomorrow.
Your website is different.
You control it.
You shape the message.
You decide how your business shows up.
Social media is rented space. Your website is property.
For painters, cleaners, handymen, tradesmen, and anyone offering a service, that matters. People want to know who they are letting into their home. A solid website builds that comfort before you ever knock on the door.
People Are Starting to Remember the Name
Another thing I noticed was the number of direct visitors. These are people who typed the website in themselves instead of clicking from somewhere else.
That tells me awareness is growing.
Most homeowners are not hiring the first person they see. They look around, compare, do a little research, and pay attention to who feels professional.
When your name keeps showing up, trust starts building.
Then when something breaks, needs painting, cleaning, repairing, or updating, they already know who to call.
That is branding, and it works quietly in the background.
Mobile Matters More Than Ever
About 70 percent of visitors were on their phones.
Think about how most people search for home services. It usually happens the moment a problem shows up.
Water stain on the ceiling.
Hole in the drywall.
Paint peeling.
Something just not working right.
They grab their phone and start searching.
If a website is slow, outdated, or hard to use, they move on fast. Nobody wants to fight a website when they already have a problem to deal with.
Helpful Content Builds Trust Before You Ever Speak
The page that brought in the most traffic this week was not even a service page. It was a blog explaining how customers actually find businesses on Google.
That tells me people want information before they make decisions.
When your business answers questions and helps people understand what to expect, you stop feeling like a stranger and start feeling like a professional they can trust.
And in the home service industry, trust is everything.
Websites Play the Long Game
I like being straightforward about this. Most websites do not immediately make your phone ring nonstop.
What they do is position you.
Someone visits today.
They recognize your name.
They see that you are legitimate.
Then a few weeks later something needs attention at their home.
Guess whose name they remember.
That is branding doing exactly what it is supposed to do.
Visibility Creates Opportunity
Some service providers hesitate to get a website because they are not sure if it is worth it.
Here is the reality. If people cannot find you, they cannot hire you.
A professional online presence tells customers you take your work seriously. It separates you from the fly by night operators and the folks who treat their business like a side project.
Before you ever speak to a homeowner, your website is already speaking for you.
Need Something Fixed? Start There.
If you landed on my site because something around your home needs attention, you are in the right place.
Whether it is drywall repair, interior painting, general home fixes, or projects you have been putting off, you can reach out directly from the website or give me a call. I am always happy to take a look and point you in the right direction.
And if you are a business owner or service provider who knows it is time to build a stronger online presence but are not sure where to start, I am always open to that conversation too.
No pressure. Just practical advice.
Your business deserves to be seen, and your home deserves quality work when you need it.
A strong website helps make both happen.
